The Story
In October 2018 we took the difficult decision to fell our two beloved North Lawn oak trees due to disease. We felt that the sad loss of these 400-year-old icons should have a positive outcome, and so the Mighty Acorns project was born!
Every year, over one third of Gordonstoun students receive bursary assistance. We are using the oak to produce beautiful limited-edition items for sale to the Gordonstoun community, with 100% of the profit going to support future bursaries. In that way the oaks, which have watched over so much of Gordonstoun’s history, are helping to support the next generation of students at the school – our Mighty Acorns.
